Hawaii 2014 Kauai
After a week on Maui we moved over to Kauai, our favorite island.  We spent a couple of days in the Navy cabins at Barking Sands then Courtney and Dave joined us and we moved into our timeshare.  Again, we did a lot of snorkeling, so more pictures of fish are ahead.

The view from our cabin.  The red circle shows water running up over the beach in about the same place I lost my Kindle to a wave 2 years ago. A panoramic view from our porch The cabin
On the beach with the cabins behind Gail.  Ours is the second from the right. The beach The beach to the west
The beach to the east Swimming here can be a bit rough.  The waves really pound down hard. Suset.  Barking Sands, and the other nearby beaches are the best  beaches for sunsets
Our room is the second from the right on the ground floor. As seen from the beach across the road The water was clearer on all the Kauai beaches.  these shots were taken right across the street from our resort.
Poipu is another nearby beach with good snorkeling

The Spouting Horn, only a mile or so from our resort We went kayaking one day up Huleia Stream.  It is a lazy stream and we had the wind at our back so it was too strenuous (they brought us back on a powered barge).
There were a few low hanging tree limbs along the way. Here we are hard at work
We stopped and hiked up a small stream

Sunset from the restaurant across from our resort.  At this time of year the sun doesn't quite set into the water.
