We started with a short day stopping at Memaloose State Park on the Columbia which is conveniently close to The Dalles in case we needed to shop for something we forgot (we did). Then down to John Day National Monument spending that night at Clyde Holliday State park then on to Bully Creek County Park and our first Sand Dunes at Brueneau Dunes State Park.
Two pictures from the Columbia Plateau in Oregon. Mt Hood, Mt Adams, and circled in red, Mt Rainier
Along the John Day River and in the National Monument.
Clyde Holliday State Park one of the prettier Oregon State Parks, at least in the fall.
Bully Creek County Park. More pretty fall colors
Bruneau Dunes State Park, Idaho. These dunes are locate in a sort of depression that catches sand blowing by and keeps it.
