2022 Tropical Islands Kauai and Viti Levu
In January we took Gavin to Kauai as his Christmas present. On this page are some pictures from that trip
We stayed in a resort in Kapa’a. The image above is from our balcony so you can see we were not in one of those along the ocean. Gavin loved the pool and spent a lot of time in it.
Here is Gavin learning to use his mask and snorkel before we went to the beach.
Poipu Beach and Gavin’s first time snorkeling. There were a bunch of these Christmas Wrasse there that day and Gavin got a big kick out of seeing them and following them around.

A few more scenes. It was a fairly calm day but the Spouting Horn still managed to look nice. The two pictures to the right are taken at Glass Beach. The beach has been pretty well picked over so Gail wasn’t able to add much to her sea glass collection. But, while were there we got to see a very rare, endangered mammal, the Hawaiian Monk Seal who was taking a nap and completely ignoring the tourists.
On our last day we went tubing. The tubes float down a canal that was dug to run water from the mountains down to a Sugar Plantation. Much of our journey was through tunnels that were necessary to get the water out of the hills.
