Geneva-Gattinara
We started our morning in Geneva with a phone call from Erin announcing that she is in the early stage of being pregnant, which immediately fired up Gail's shopping motor.
From Geneva we drove back through the tunnel and almost back to Milan, stopping in the town of Gattinara to visit with Paola, a fellow teacher that Gail had hooked up with via the internet during the preparation for the winter Olympics. We spent the afternoon with her, visiting a friend and her school, then had a great dinner at her house. Note to those planning a trip somewhere-you can really cut down your costs if you can schedule dinners in someone's home!
While having dinner a big thunderstorm rolled through dropping nickel sized hail. That is quite loud when hitting tile roofs.
The next day, the 28th, we picked up Gail's sisters, Alison and Judie at the Milan airport and drove to our inn, just outside of Bellagio on Lake Como.
