Bellagio
Being that Bellagio is a very pretty place, that we spent a couple of days here, and in some sense it was the first true vacation day, we took a lot of pictures and these are just a few of them.
Similar pictures can be found on our vacation 2000 web page as we stayed in the same place-check 'em out here.
Our Inn as seen from along the shore That is our balcony under the vines on the second floor.
Here we are at dinner that first night. Judie and Alison look well rested for a first night-the advantage I suppose of getting bumped to First Class on their trip over.
That night we had another thunderstorm and woke to cool and windy conditions. It was to be the last time we were cool.
Here are some scenes from around Bellagio
After lunch we took the ferry over to Lenno on the other side of the lake and toured Villa Balbianello. It is a cool villa that was built by a Cardinal and then passed into the hands of a Count who was a business man and an adventurer (dog sled to the North Pole type of thing). After an American owner it was passed to the Italian government to turn into a museum. The terrace here and one of the rooms were used in the romantic scenes of the fifth Star Wars movie (or the second one in the total series). Also used in one of James Bond movies.
So, here we are on the famous terrace.
